For many this is a very challenging time. I want to remind you that we are still in between the eclipses, and nearing the Solar Eclipse on the 23rd. This solar eclipse occurs during Diwali, the celebration of light in the Vedic Calendar (more about this below). With four planets in Chitra nakshatra, Mars is really strongly activated right now. Our anger/agitation, critic/judge, sense of righteousness and inner fire may be aggravated. There is a natural piercing and cutting happening on multiple levels. The veils are thin- and if we are really paying attention we should be seeing our shadows, like never before. Pay attention, but don't necessarily respond or act until after the eclipse cycle has passed. Trust that your pieces will fall more naturally into place once the dust settles a bit. Until then, remember small action steps, embodiment, breath awareness and self care. Monday, October 20th Today’s Intention: Dance and paint your visions into reality. Moon moves into Uttaraphalguni, at 11:47 am CDT, inviting in Aryaman for our day, with an extra dash of Sun. Resources, creative and otherwise, are offered to us today. Stability, support and ancestral assistance arrives. This is a star that offers sustainability through relationships, partnerships and connections. It’s the work and effort we put into them that provides us with lasting nourishment. This is a time of asking for what you want and need. Be willing though to put in the necessary effort it takes for your efforts to be worth it. The work you do now, will pay off for you and your lineage in the future, so make your steps count. Continue working intentionally with your potent creativity. Creativity is your power, your stability in this life. It is our reason for life and living. Use your creativity to affirm and confirm what you want in your life and who you want in it. Let the arts serve as the tool for awakening your sleeping creative forces. Dance and paint your dreams into reality and capture the aliveness, the potency, the shakti, of your creative life force. Moon enters the 13th tithi (Moon phase) today, moving towards complete emptiness this week with the new Moon. Retrograde Mercury (now in its position of exaltation, Virgo) is closely conjunct Rahu, our shadows. Mind is being highly influenced by our shadows right now. With Ketu's direct aspect, expect the mental body to be cracked open. Let in the light and look for resources. As Moon hops into Virgo at 18:25 CDT, the mental body and emotional body intensify this dance- as well as our fragility. The major planetary shifts have passed now until Saturn moves into Scorpio on November 2nd (an article on this transit will be out later this week). For now, Libra continues to force our attention, asking us to confront our issues about balance, relationships and getting the support we need. Exalted Saturn is poised for change and in the gap now, sandhi at over 28 degrees. Debilitated Sun forces us to confront issues with ego and our sense of Self. While Venus in Libra (it's own sign) increases our ability to find more flow, possibility and resources for balance with these themes. Creativity (Venus's domain) is an essential resource for finding new possibilities and literally re-creating your life. Be intentional with your creative process right now. Tuesday, October 21st Today's Intention: Don't be afraid to be broken open. Light enters through our broken places. Moon transits Virgo, conjunct retrograde exalted Mercury. Retrograde planets intensify the indications of the planet, while a retrograde planet in its sign of exaltation becomes debilitated (uccha banga). This is a very interesting combination we are experiencing right now. As this delicate, debilitated mental body is confronting its shadows head on, we are likely to feel our shadows intensify with mind games included. Mercury and Rahu are in exact conjunction in the very wee hours of the morning. This may be a time where our mental turmoil is exacerbated as well as phobias, fears and psychic disturbances. As Moon joins this combination, we may be overwhelmed by emotional triggers as well. I can not overemphasize the need for embodiment at this time. Keep it small, affirming and gentle. Use a three level check in to name the issues coming up for you and try to separate the messages and needs of each body- mental, emotional and physical. This check in is a very concrete step to help us work directly with our internal "pause to check" system. I also suggest using some EFT (emotional freedom technique) to calm any increased fight or flight coming up for you at this time. Do not push yourself right now. Less is more. Moon moves into Hasta nakshatra at 14:10 CDT and Savitr offers a bit of light. This light may intensify the reflection coming towards us, or it may offer a glimmer of hope and possibility. Savitr brings insights and new realizations which may be stunners. The hands are a primary resource for this nakshatra. Use the hands to enliven the light and awareness available to you. This may be through creativity and the arts- working with clay, painting, etc. I suggest creating a dance and some body movement that begins with the hands. Use the hands as an entry point for your dance and let their function- grasping and releasing- be a metaphor for your life process. What are you grasping and holding? What are you releasing and letting go? Practice the opening and closing as you work with the hands directly. Use Gayatri Mantra to induce more light and magic. Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥtát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃbhárgo devásya dhīmahidhíyo yó naḥ prachodáyāt Wednesday, October 22nd Today's Intention: Make your action steps count. What is good for you is good for others. Moon jumps into the 15th tithi and Chitra nakshatra. Moon is almost completely empty as we near our final eclipse of the year. Moon in Chitra puts five planets in this Mars ruled nakshatra- Moon, Mercury and Rahu are in very close conjunction. Use yesterday's information to walk through your day. Chitra is ruled by Vishvakarma, the builder, the architect of the cosmos. He helps us with our action steps, making them potent and powerful. As his name denotes, action is a part of what he offers us. Since he is also an Aditya, he can provide us with resources for our life. He is often considered an incarnation of Lord Brahma, the god who brings the unmanifest into manifest form. Great karma yoga can happen with Vishvakarma. This is an essential reminder right now during the current planetary intensity. Be of service to others, let seva be a driving force for you and your actions. How can your actions serve you and others as a divine offering? Ultimately, this is dharma. Actions steps building upon your action steps. Surrender to the process. Use your creativity to expand the actions you take. Sun and Venus are in exact conjunction today, creating a combustion, excess heat and torching our creative energy. Watch for burnout, excess fatigue. Notice where you are pushing too hard and missing the messages of this delicate time period. Relationships are vulnerable right now as well as our creative fluidity. Self care and extra nourishment is essential. Thursday, October 23rd Today's Intention: Light your candle, even if it's only a tiny flame. Retrograde, debilitated Mercury moves back into Hasta nakshatra, inviting in a sense of light and flicker of wisdom. Ask Savitr for guidance and inspiration. Let mind and hands work together in the coming weeks. Hand eye coordination is maximized during this time period. Use the arts to increase this potential; playing music, painting, drawing, writing, can all increase the light within. We may feel some increased hope and possibility today because of this transition- as well as through the other significant changes today. Moon moves into Libra at 04:52 am CDT, joining debilitated Sun, combust Venus in its own sign, and an exalted yet sandhi (in the gap) Saturn. The instability of the times may intensify our sense of burnout today. Move towards the resources and seek moments of pause that can be a resource for you. Relationships, our sense of balance, our stability and support may feel uncertain and off balance right now. I encourage you to look for the smallest of resources and let this help you build resilience. Don't force outcomes right now. Ease forward gently. Diwali (or Deepavali) is a very significant five day festival in the Vedic tradition. This year, the festivities begin on the 18th in the USA, and continue until the 25th. The most significant day of the Diwali festivities is today because of the new Moon. This is a celebration of light, of Lakshmi, and our divine resources. The festival of light spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. As the solar eclipse is occurring simultaneously, we literally are experiencing an eclipse of our light, our solar energy, our soul. Today, let in the light, the abundance that is present in your life- no matter how small or nuanced. Turn on the light switch of your soul and let this be a poignant moment, intentionally driving out the shadows and inviting in more light to your life. Possibility, hope and joy are significant resources. Honor Lakshmi, light a candle at your altar and invoke her spirit of abundance and wealth. New Moon is at 16:57 CDT while Moon is in Libra and Chitra nakshatra. Moon moves to Swati nakshatra at 17:31 CDT. The partial solar eclipse begins at 17:00 CDT and continues until 18:52 CDT. A lot of movement and shifts are happening within this two hour time frame. Use this time for meditation, invocation and setting intentions if possible. Swati nakshatra increases shadow, movement and shape shifting. The rule of Swati, Vayu the wind god, increases these tendencies. Symbolically, this partial solar eclipse ushers in the next waxing cycle for us. This is a cycle that brings essential balancing for the pieces of our life that have been causing upheaval. The balance occurs once we slowly sift and settle into our new choices and action steps. Digestion and assimilation of the past month bring the stability we are seeking. Finding the most nourishing morsels of our lives and what our greatest needs are, becomes our driving force. Transformation becomes the nourishment, as well as instigates the nourishment we need. Seek transformation and let new resources feed you. Your emotional body is a vital resource for making wise choices and action steps. Whatever your intuitive knowing offers you- go there. Use this wisdom to guide you. Restructure the way you offer yourself, how you share your wisdom. Shift the way you seek wisdom and knowledge. Invite in innovation. Let the body be a primary creative resource for you. Resource from the wisdom of the body. Listen deeply and ask your body to give you the guidance you are seeking. Pelvis and hips can be a resource for informing the way you dance with stability, support, moving forward and containment. How can you move forward with greater stability and support? Read more about this in my New Moon Wisdom article. Friday, October 24th Today's Intention: Listen to your internal winds for vital physical body messages. Surrender to the winds of change. Moon transits Swati nakshatra, ruled by Vayu and Rahu, increasing movement, change and transition. There is a certain intensity with this nakshatra because Vayu is a Rudra. Strength and fierceness are invoked. This lessens the intense stalemate of planets in Chitra nakshatra that we've been working with for the past days and weeks. But now, swift movement and change are inevitable. Vayu is connected to prana, our internal winds and vital life force. Vayu is worshiped as the "breath of the gods". We are each touched by gods breath through Swati nakshatra. Speak, move, invoke this divine life force. Let it move you and help you create your new dance, your new direction. Venus moves into Swati nakshatra at 05:35 CDT and the shift from multiple planets in Chitra, shifts to multiple planets in Swati. This shift invites in creative movement and change. Changes and shifts with our relationships, our sense of balance and stability. Creativity, and its constant flux, flow and change, is our stabilizing force. Ground. Keep working with the pelvis as a resource for stability and creative vitality. The close combustion of Venus and Sun continues as Venus chases the Sun. Heat and passion intensifies so watch for sparks and aggression. Just after midnight, Sun shifts into Swati nakshatra as well. Sun in Swati nakshatra invites in a two week period of big shifts and changes as Saturn moves into Scorpio for the next 2.5 years. Sun invokes these shifts, the movement and the winds of change. Since Vayu is one of the eight Vasudevas, who are sources of illumination, there is light and inspiration that can arrive as well as resources. These resources and inspiration should be linked to dharma and Vayu will give the support we need to increase this nourishment. Since wind cools things off, we may notice a coolness or a detachment in ourselves emotionally at this time. Don't forget to check in with your emotional body during this time period as we may be missing vital messages. Use a three level check for resourcing. Moon shifts into Vishaka nakshatra at 18:27 CDT, invoking Indragni and a need for alliance and support systems. Saturday, October 25th Today's Intention: Let the shape shifting begin! Moon transits Vishaka nakshatra and Indragni orients us towards alliances, support systems and co-creation. Work with a sense of togetherness, and how to resource with connection and the nourishment we can receive from building relationships. There is much symbolism with the alliance of Indra and Agni. These dual gods remind us that two heads are better than one. That we need a hierarchy of power in order to thrive, and that we all serve each other, no matter the hierarchy. There is a connection to the altar here as well, making offerings to the divine, and the transformation that occurs when we do this act of worship. Alchemy, the transformation process of our offerings, is heightened today. Take note of what you are offering, how you are offering it, and to who. What shifts need to take place and who can you align with to increase its power and potency? Moon moves to Scorpio at 12:51 CDT. Mercury goes direct today at 14:13 CDT, returning him to his exalted status in Virgo. Technically he is considered "in his own sign" as he's over 15 degrees right now, but this strength should help with mental matters, commerce, business and finances, as well as creativity. These issues start to move in a more forward direction for us now. Moon moves to Anuradha nakshatra at 18:55 CDT, and Mitra enters our awareness. Sunday, October 26th Today's Intention: Don't get lost in the details. Moon transits Scorpio and Anuradha nakshatra today, enlivening Mitra and his precision. Moon receives drishti from Jupiter and Ketu. Both Sun and Moon are debilitated right now. This can be a very inward time of introspection, and may result in a lack of external focus. This tendency is increased as Moon is still small in the fourth tithi, though waxing now. Use this time to quietly restructure your visions and goals instead. Plant your seeds of desire and motivate energetically for your future. Mitra is an Aditya, known for giving resources and material support. He is a form of the Sun and relates to friendship, companionship, connections, and fine details. Anuradha can help us with alliances, connections, and building resources through our relationships. Moon moves to Jyeshtha nakshatra at 18:58 CDT. Indra's sensory sensitivity and overall strength help us overcome some obstacles. Tend to your wild horses (your senses) and don't let them run away with you. Monday, October 27th Today's Intention: Tame your wild horses! Moon transits Jyeshtha nakshatra and Indra, as well as Mercury rule the day. Indra heightens our senses, as well as our sensory sensitivity. He reminds us of the strength we can gain when we can control our senses and learn to channel them more directly. This is power. With Sun and Moon debilitated simultaneously, our sensitivity is more extreme. Pay attention to your subtle needs and listen to your intuition. Make sure your mental body doesn't lead you astray. Use a three level check for awareness. Moon jumps into Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra at 18:37 CDT, inviting in some disruptions and chaos. Moon joins Mars here and intensifies the changes. Saturn's drishti on both Mars and Moon increase the pressure and force. There is wisdom coming in the back door with with this calamity and restructuring, so look for the gifts that are arriving. The more space you can clear, the more space there will be for the new. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. We are in the delicate two week time period between lunar and solar eclipses. This is a time of dancing with our shadows, needing to be diligent with self exploration, and bravely looking at the parts of our being that need transformation. These big shifts and changes are sealed with the Solar Eclipse occurring on October 23rd which auspiciously is also Diwali, the day of light and a celebration of Maha Lakshmi. Read more about this sensitive time in my Full Moon Eclipse Wisdom article.
Simultaneously, this two week period holds extreme changes, transformations and a very cosmic dance with the planets. There will be four major shifts within hours and days of each other. First Mercury retrogrades back into its sign of exaltation, Virgo (where Rahu is currently) on October 16th. On October 17th, Sun shifts into its sign of debilitation, Libra, on the 17th where it joins exalted Saturn. Saturn will be sandhi at this time (in the gap) and perched at the edge of Libra, ready to jump into Scorpio for a 2.5 year transit on November 2nd! The very next day, on October 18th, Mars jumps into Sagittarius for a short 5 week transit, while Virgo shifts into Libra, its own sign. Talk about movement and change! Libra is significant for helping us find balance and greater stability in our lives. This theme of transformation continues with a stalemate of planets in Scorpio coming next. We need this time of shift over the next two weeks to help us weigh and measure our options before we make some big changes for ourselves over the next few months. So use this time for gathering resources, information, tools and support. What do you need for your ultimate nourishment and support in life? Where are you confused, stuck and vacillating? Who and what in your life is helping you move forward, and who and what are holding you back? This is a time of gathering information. Be diligent. I’ll be sharing more about the day to day details of this powerful time in my Moon Mind Calendar. Be sure to follow along. Horoscopes for the Waning Moon Cycle {October 8th to 23rd} *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: Your stomach holds many resources for you about your healing work right now. It’s the home of our intuitive wisdom and gut instincts. Are you listening to what it’s telling you, or are the messages lost in the shadows? Paying close attention to diet and purifying your digestion right now is ideal. Zoom in on your bad habits; these are the things that are holding you back from moving forward in your life. Watch out for drinking, drugs and excess sugar at this time as well as pieces of you that are manipulating yourself and others out of fear. This will be important as your relationship house becomes the focus after the 17th. Taurus: The dance for you right now is between creativity and healing. Listen to your creative impulses, your child like senses, your passions. These hold wisdom for you about what you need in your life to thrive and where you might be holding back. Find the stability and answers you need in your gut, your instincts, your digestion and assimilation of nourishment. Transforming your bad habits will come from finding a new sense of balance with what you need and what you don’t need. It will take a radical approach to loosen and remove these old pieces, the blockages that are holding you back. As Mars and Venus shift on the 18th, you’ll get some support with transforming from your depths. Don’t forget that your creativity is the missing link. Gemini: Matters of the heart seem to carry the most weight with them right now. The emotional body wisdom is crying to you, “Listen to me!” The illusions have been so strong that you have likely been missing these vital messages for quite some time; these are the resources that demand your attention though. How much longer will you bypass your body wisdom, your intuitive wisdom, for the imaginal realms of the mind? You’re being offered a window right now into your creative, passionate being. It beckons to you, yearns for you to jump into the creative flow of your whole being. This is a unique time, one that can untie head and heart, and let them dance more purposefully in duet. Get answers from the pelvis. Cancer: Your shadow dance is between the heart and the courage it takes to live your dreams. There’s a lot of back and forth- fears and illusions playing with you right now. The trick is to capture these illusions when you catch yourself dancing with them, then bring some new light to them once you do. Do not stuff them back into your heart- as disappointments, only to become more haunts and torments. Now is the time to courageously face your set backs, the emotional wounds you are carrying, and passionately transform them. Art will be your medicine, but first you must figure out what really ails you. Leo: The light that is coming from your depths is your most valuable resource right now. These are the pieces of your being that are forcing their way up from your shadows and begging you to see them. It’s a time of restructuring, and endings, with the support of guidance and knowledge. Trust the nourishment in your life and find ways to amplify this support for yourself. What are your greatest needs and what do you need for ultimate comfort and security? There is something you can count on, no matter what. It’s your creativity; your ability to return to and be nourished by your creative powers. Don’t forget this wisdom. Virgo: The magic and mystery you are discovering, stems from your lower chakras. Your roots are shifting, changing; as though you are tilling your own soil. Dancing with feet, legs and pelvis as a primary resource can offer a magnified creative flow and help you find the stability and comfort you are seeking so desperately. This theme continues in the coming weeks and requires your bravery and honesty. What are you most passionate about and craving from your depths? What pieces of your life have yet to be attended to? Your soul is giving you an ultimatum. It’s time to really thrive now, to do what you were born to do. You can no longer pretend your needs don’t matter. Stabilize from the ground up. Libra: It’s your party and you can cry if you want to. There’s a number of fancy dances happening in your sign in the coming days. Ins and outs, losses and gains, returns and revivals. You may feel a sense of renewal and a surge of hope. Capture this and hold it tightly for now. Paint elaborate images with this feeling and nurture it tenderly. These are the delicate seeds that can offer you blossoms in your new solar cycle. With Sun moving out of your shadowed realms and into your head, there’s a sense of rise and shine, though his debilitation softens his shine. Use this time to be radical in your boundaries and find a new balance in the process. Scorpio: Your mantra is shakti. Imbibe it it. Become it. Let it move you, move through you and surrender to its messages. Guard it with your entire being and cultivate more of it within you. Be nourished by it and let this flow continue to move you. Wherever you are losing your spark, your ability to transform and transcend your shadows, shows the blockages that need your greatest attention and intention. Where are you standing still when you desire movement? Where are you feeling malnourished, when you desire a feast? Dance with the shadows for answers and listen to your depths. They are whispering to you for more of this one precious life. Sagittarius: Wisdom and knowledge may be coming to you in surprising ways right now. Your heart is getting clearer in the process of much restructuring; you are definitely lightening your load. As life begins to simplify more and more, you’ll begin to notice the basic requirements that you need for your true nourishment and satisfaction. Less is more; but use this time to determine radically what needs to be let go of in order to really be nourished by what truly serves you. This includes bravely addressing your emotions in new ways and being willing to look at their messages in new ways. Be radical and bold in your giving and receiving. There’s a dance taking place with your polarities. What are you opening to and what are you closing to? Capricorn: The biggest question you face is how to merge all of these seemingly different pieces of yourself into one offering. There is so much you want to do, to say, to be. Is it possible that all of you can be shared with the world, in order to shine brightly and magnificently? Without ruining yourself and your vitality in the process? This pulling in multiple directions can be your downfall, only if you neglect the natural cycles and rhythms of Nature. Let her creative flow tell you when to rise and when to fall. Trust and surrender to her dance. Forcing, pushing and over working are the shadows that need your greatest attention and intention at this time. Ultimate balance will take you far. Go there. Find it. Work with that like your life depends on it. It does. Aquarius: You’ve been working with a low point, a pause recently. And if you’ve really been paying attention, you’ve noticed how important this standstill has been for you and your inner transformational process. There is a new richness, more fertile soil within you so to speak. This is the ground work that you are now ready to plant some potent seeds into. A rich harvest is coming, but continue to digest and assimilate, nourish and be nourished by learning and wisdom. The best way for you to amplify this is through teaching and giving what you know away to others. The teacher learns more than the students. Pisces: The theme of endings and transformations continues for you and your relationship matters. Who are you inviting in and who are you releasing and letting go of permanently? Wisdom and knowledge seem to be the fuel you need for increasing passion and creativity in your life right now, but don’t neglect the role your emotional body and intuitive wisdom play in your awareness and growth. Your emotional body wisdom is also a place of much creativity. Use it as a resource to find out more about what you need in your life and relationships. What fuels your gifts and your giving? Are you sharing from a sustainable place or a place of lack and need? What does your emotional body tell you when you give yourself to others? Save a piece of yourself for yourself. New Moon is April 29th at 1:14 am CDT while Moon is in Aries and Bharani Nakshatra. The annular solar eclipse will occur simultaneously. Over the past months we’ve been working with issues and themes of relationships, balance, stability and support, while ego, power issues and strength have added further complexity to our understanding and growth. These themes are enlivened, intensified and strengthened during the new Moon on the 29th, while getting an extra edge of intensity due to the solar eclipse occurring simultaneously. Solar eclipse begins on April 28th at 10:53 PM CDT and continues until April 29th at 3:15 AM CDT. The maximum eclipse is on April 29th at 1:04 AM CDT, though it won't be visible from the US. Sun and Moon are in exact conjunction in Aries for the occasion of new Moon and solar eclipse. They are both simultaneously conjunct Ketu and Mercury as well. These four planets receive direct drishti (gaze) from a compromised Saturn (retrograde, exalted in Libra, deeming it debilitated) and the north node, Rahu. Additionally, Mars throws his 8th aspect on this combination, heating and intensifying the situation. Think: pressure cooker. Pressure cooker for the mind, the ego, the sense of Self, the emotions. Restructuring, transformation, change and endings are inevitable as a result. We’ve been called upon to restructure our thinking, our behaviors, do less and accomplish more- out of force. We’ve been both challenged and supported in our relationships and are striving to find a balance with these pieces. The times have called for letting go, purging and pruning, finding solutions and “best practice” for ourselves and our momentum. The ego has been tested, forced to change some old habits and asked to quit going over the same old territory while still hoping for different results. If you’ve been paying attention, self tracking your behaviors and actions, these pieces have likely found a more natural momentum forward. Awareness truly does offer growth, not that it insures ease, grace, or comfort. With a certain willingness present however, it is much easier to change when we can accept what is, and let the “art of allowing” be enlivened. This new Moon + solar eclipse combination marks the ripping and shredding of the veils that we've been clinging to. If there are any left with the current themes, you can be assured that this new Moon marks the sacred extraction process for each of us in our own way. The pieces that have been left unattended or ignored, will get their day of illumination now as they come out of the shadows and from our depths. Sun, Moon, and Mercury will be in Bharani nakshatra at the time of the new Moon and eclipse, while Ketu is in Ashwini. Yama, lord of restraint and death, is holding us firmly in his grip at this time. There will be a certain amount of restriction being felt for us as a result. Pressures arise over “doing the right thing” and what pieces of our lives and our relationships must die in order for us to fully live. This complexity is most definitely necessary for the re-building that is coming; the next phase of life. And though we may feel as though we are precariously perched on the edge of our life, balancing the impossible, there is healing and rejuvenation likely if we listen carefully to the messages that are coming. Unless you are the type who needs extreme force, chaos and calamity to make life and personal changes, expect the messages of necessary change to come more subtly. Expect flashes of insight and moments of awakening. Don’t ignore these signs. The coming weeks will offer the purification and transformational elements we need to live more freely and harmoniously with life. But expect this new space to be provided after clearing out the rubble. It will require great restraint and self control to get the job done and carry forward the actions necessary to achieve our desired outcomes. The most challenging question for all of us will be “what is the right thing to do?” A simple/complex inquiry to answer. Get my daily Moon Mind calendar each week via my newsletter. Planetary Transits Venus entered Pisces its sign of exaltation on April 27th at 13:49 CDT and remains here until May 23rd. Out of Rahu's gaze, Venus now enters direct drishti from Mars seven houses away in Virgo. A passionate, expansive and creative month is ahead for all of us. The heat of Mars provokes and stokes the passion and creativity of Venus. Though fire (Mars) and water (Venus) don't mix, the steam created should inspire movement, change and creative action at this time, while instigating momentum. Relationships will be in the lime light and provide much fuel for the fire. The critic may be high in the weeks to come, the mental confusion may set in, or some friction. Watch for these things with personal and professional relationships. If at all possible surrender to an ease and flow instead. Seek clarity for your self around what nurtures and soothes, vs. what irritates and agitates. Where can you create more clarity within your Self? Where can you get more clear about your needs and boundaries? Where can you let go and allow a certain ease to settle in? Akshaya Tritiya, the auspicious "day of lasting achievement" in the Vedic calendar, occurs on May 1st in the USA while both Sun and Moon are exalted and Moon is in the third tithi (Moon phase) of the waxing cycle. The third tithi begins at 00:53 CDT on the 1st and continues until the wee hours on the 2nd at 1:32 am CDT. Moon will be in its mulitrikona sign and in the auspicious Rohini nakshatra during the majority of this time. Akshaya tritiya is considered to be a very powerful time- free from malefic influences of all kinds and highly auspicious for all new ventures. For lasting success and achievement, this the the day! Meditation, pujas, action steps, will all bring powerful and lasting results. Go for gold today. Mercury Moves to Taurus on May 4th at 11:25 pm CDT, out of the complexity of Aries and away from conjunction with Sun and Ketu + multiple aspects from Rahu, Saturn and Mars. Swiftly moving Mercury completes this transit on May 23rd. This transit may inspire some exploration of our depths- which can offer some necessary understanding and awareness- proving valuable as we navigate the relationship themes alive right now. Expect some new information and resources arriving that will help you make sense of your current experiences and predicaments. Find new ways to connect. Expand communication and commerce. Work on themes of support and sustainability, comfort and clarity. The planets are ever changing and so are we. I've created a new virtual workshop series to help you navigate the constant movement in and around us. Read more about my four part series, the Cosmic and Creative Self workshops. Full Moon is on May 14th at 14:15 CDT while in Libra. More about this fascinating full Moon in my next transit report for the waning Moon cycle. Big transits are coming. First Jupiter exalts in Cancer June 18th, then Rahu and Ketu move in July to Virgo and Pisces respectively, and later this year Saturn moves to Scorpio. Needing some guidance and clarity for this coming year? Schedule a yearly progression with me. I still have some sessions available for May. Horoscopes for the Waxing Moon Cycle {April 29th to May 14th} *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. Aries: Use this waxing cycle to clean up. Clean up your gut and diet. Be sure to alkalize. Clean up your words and get clear on boundaries so you can voice them effectively. Let your inner passions swell as romance becomes hard to resist. Relationship themes still persist as you navigate opposing realms of head vs. your libido. Don’t confuse this with what the heart actually needs. How can you make more mindful choices now? Can you make choices for your self that bring more comfort, creativity, support and nourishment? Can you slow down to listen? Challenge your Self to find new ways and means. Ego and self power are strong right now. Balance others’ feelings and needs with your own. Taurus: There is a fire lit within you and though you are shining brightly from the inside out, others may not notice the power fully. This is part of an internal overhaul; transformation and changes that have been coming on for months now. Emotions and self expression are crucial parts of your changes. Share your Self in sacred ways that attend to your need for comfort and support. Make sure you don’t use your energy and resources frivolously. It is still vital that you listen to your gut for intuitive messages. Ask it directly for insights. Gemini: One of your many gifts is being able to roll with the punches as changes occur and challenges arise. You may be experiencing a sense of your remarkable resiliency right now. Use this as a potent take-away for moving forward. No matter what, you will re-create your Self. Your infinite creativity is a potent resource for you to remember and can be used to reinvent your Self. You can do this consistently so don’t hold back and don’t hold out on your self. Find new ways to offer yourself and use this potent, passionate creativity running through you to get the job done. Cancer: Everything you’ve been learning about giving and receiving is valuable for your growth and transformation, your boundaries and your clarity. These are the pieces that will allow you to get your needs met more sustainably and not wear yourself out. Use this information and apply it to your career in this waxing cycle. Who are you trying to impress? And how does this need for acceptance effect your offerings and what you are striving for? Best practice right now is balancing the outer offerings with turning inward. Find time to listen to your inner realms. Find comfort in creativity and your passion for life. Channel this into your gifts and offerings. Leo: The natural teacher in you is flourishing right now. There’s a certain ease in how you offer and share your self. It is important to remember that every teacher is in fact a student who learns the most with their offerings if they are open to receive. Be the beginner. See with fresh eyes. Watch for moments of ego that keep you from listening more carefully and being completely present. Allow constant inquiry. Let your knowledge come from your depths and use the unknown as your greatest creative, transformational inspiration. Virgo: Relationships are passionately progressing right now and your cravings are strong. Desires are coming from your depths and likely bring confusion. The unknown seems to sabotage your courage and action steps. Are you revisiting the same old patterns or are you willing to refocus on a new, more brilliant agenda? Are you willing to expand in the name of growth, or play small and keep doing what you’ve been doing? The only way towards new outcomes is to step into new actions. Work with the fears, not against them. And definitely don't avoid them all together. Libra: Cut, clear, purge. Attend to the business at hand. Function moment to moment. These themes from the past months have helped you step into some new realizations and the clarity has been a boon. The coming weeks can bring temptations to return to the old ways of life and being. Don’t succumb to past addictions or fall victim to relationships that do more harm than good. You know better now. See these bumps in the road as tests. Creativity comes from your gut and intuition. Make sure there’s room for your artistry and embodiment practices. Scorpio: Agni flares, providing necessary digestion for many old thoughts and feelings right now. Listen to your own digestion and assimilation process and use this as a resource for your offerings and gifts. Share from this intuitive resonance, teach from your depths, and be present to your vast creativity percolating within. You are able to download a lot of brilliance right now because you naturally listen more carefully than most. Avoid distractions and past pain traps, woundologies and the like- instead use these to inform your process and gather momentum for actions and insights. Connect, create, share, but do so in new ways with a new agenda. Sagittarius: Suddenly there's been a fire lit within you, though it may appear to have you moving in reverse. Your level of comfort and ease increases, giving the heart and home some extra padding. Use these pieces to bolster your contentment, your creativity and your zest for life. Find ways that these overlap with your career, your offerings and your gifts. Communicate effectively; don't make assumptions. Clean up your gut and your diet with the intention of clarifying and purifying from the inside out. Let this cleanliness seep into the rest of your life- including your relationships. Get clear on what works and doesn't work for you. Capricorn: Charge forward with your creativity courageously. Think outside the box. What foreign and far off connections can offer support and resources to you? How can you upgrade your skills with language in order to teach, create, connect and communicate more effectively? Inspire others by inspiring your self. Retrace your old steps and edit them. Now is the time to reformulate the way you share your self and your gifts, but you’ll have to do it differently then before if you want to sustainably move forward. Heart work and conscious attention to your emotions prove invaluable. Aquarius: Comforts abound. Passions are ignited. Speak and communicate creatively and profoundly. Take courageous steps forward with relationships and connections. Be clear with needs and boundaries and use this time as an opportunity to restructure the way you connect and communicate. Is there a way to be compassionate and kind to your Self and others while both of you get your needs met? Is there a way to open the ego up to more harmonious intake of environment and relationships? Watch for overindulgence in general and note when you are eating to comfort your self rather than nourish your self. Pisces: As you continue to expand and flow like water this month, it may feel like your relationships are trying to burn you a bit. There's clean up happening in who and what you relate to, how you relate and for what reasons. These issues are directly connected to your ability to speak and express your Self- both your needs and your healthy boundaries. Right now you are getting an opportunity to attend to new ways of self nourishment and comfort, learning what works and what doesn't. Find a healthy balance between unadulterated pleasure and passion without overindulgence and excess. Don't miss my horoscopes! Get my weekly newsletter here. With multiple planets colliding energetically as well as lunar and solar eclipses happening during this waning Moon cycle, we are each feeling the intensity in our own way on an internal level. As is the macrocosm, so is the microcosm and vice versa. Each informs the other. Inner to outer and outer to inner. It is here at this intersection that we are given an opportunity. Using the physical body as an entry point into the exploration of our surroundings and then seeing what arrives on an internal level can be very informative. In the Tamalpa Life Art Process (TLAP) as well as in Paolo Knill's unique Expressive Art Therapy teachings, we see landscape work as a very intentional resource for self development. For me, landscape work has been very foundational this past year and has helped me experience my needs for stability and support more effectively.
Start where you are. Yes, right here and right now. You may wish to begin with a three level check-in to start your navigation process. Scan the mental body and note the experience, images, shapes, words that come to mind. Do the same with emotional body and physical body. This is step number one in self tracking. The next step is to start moving. Use your immediate environment to inform your physical movement. Are you sitting, standing or walking? How are you moving and why? How does the immediate environment (chair, floor, wall, window ledge, desk, sidewalk, trees etc) inform your physical movements? What body parts are you utilizing, not utilizing? What body parts seem to be your default? Work with themes of resistance, push and pull, repetition and pause/hold. Make sure the breath is always moving you and moving through you. Let the breath initiate the movement in other words. Your homework for the next two weeks is using the "landscape exploration" practice regularly. Take it outside on a walk in the woods or through a park. Take it into your office space and work with the local environment and any furniture or walls present. This doesn't have to be a long and lengthy practice, even 5 to 10 minutes can be highly informative. Keep working with themes that arrive and patterns that emerge and build off of them each time you start your "landscape exploration". Harvest your experiences and three level check ins and look for patterns and themes that emerge. Remember: work with what is present. Harvesting Questions: What body part am I working with right now? What is it telling me about the landscape and my environment? How is my body/parts connecting to the available surface? How is my body/parts working with the space in the environment? How can the immediate environment inform my movements? How do my mental/emotional bodies show up in my movements with the environment? How does the environment appear to interact with my mental/emotional bodies? In what ways does the external environment inform my internal landscape? Vice versa? What themes arrive? What body parts continue to be relied upon as I move through the landscape? What resources and insights do the environment and surfaces offer me? What feelings surface? What sensations arrive? Connect with me and my Creative Rituals here. I have made a shift to my content. My planetary transit reports + horoscopes will now be written bimonthly, with the waxing and waning cycles of the Moon in mind. These cycles are both relevant and poignant for our internal/external experiences, and I feel they more accurately represent my work, the connection I have with the Moon, and the way I can serve you in a meaningful way. Creative Engagement Activities will also be posted twice monthly with these Moon cycles in mind. Additionally, I will now be posting a Seven Day Moon Mind Calendar at the top of each week, which will help you maximize the expression of each day, the knowledge of the nakshatras, and will serve as a fine tuning portion of my other offerings. I welcome your feedback and hope to hear how this new cycle of offerings works for you. Namaste~
Moon is now waxing (Shukla Paksha) and transits Pisces to Libra during the next two weeks. Moon is exalted and in its mulatrikona sign of Taurus from 4.02 to 4.04. In its own sign of Cancer from the 7th to the 9th. And enters Libra on the 15th, joining Rahu and Saturn, priming us for a full Lunar eclipse shortly there after. Get my daily Moon Mind calendar for each week via my blog and FaceBook. Vasant Navaratri begins on the 31st and continues for nine days and nights, ending on the 8th. The first three days are dedicated to Durga, The second third is for honoring Lakshmi, and the final three days for Saraswati. Moon will be transiting Aries for the majority of Durga's days- offering cutting, clearing and healing. Moon transits Taurus and then into Gemini during Lakshmi's days, creating a greater sense of creativity, as well as inner and outer expansion. For the final three days of Navaratri, dedicated to goddess Saraswati, Moon will be transiting Gemini and into Cancer, offering comfort, support and a sense of wholeness. Use this time to self track; note your experiences- both inner and outer. This is a sacred time with no coincidences, so pay attention. Read more about Vasant Navaratri and how to connect with the goddesses. Venus moves to Aquarius on 3.30 at 23:11 CDT, joining Mercury there for a few short days. In Aquarius, he receives drishti from both Rahu and Jupiter from this position. At the top of the week, he is still young in degrees, so still delicate and in transition. The next month will offer some rise, some raises, but only through seemingly impossible feats. Pieces that you are holding firmly to, will need to be let go of and burned, purified and released, in order for advancement. The tethers that are binding you and the intense dance you've been doing to "make it all happen" need to shift and change for greater sustainability. What are you clinging to? What old manure do you keep stepping in? This month (as Mercury's shift to Pisces dictates as well) is about upgrading the way you do business. The business of life, of relationships, communication, creativity, work and joy. Let the shift come- even if it begins with crumbling, rubble, and chaos. You will be offered tools, choices and options for how you want to rebuild with more stability. Mercury moves to Pisces on the 3rd at 20:48 CDT, which is its sign of debilitation. He joins Sun here and gets direct drishti from retrograde Mars. This transit, though relatively short in duration (a little over two weeks) may bring a feeling of being pulled in too many directions. Retrograde Mars will force the issue and request that all things Mercury get pierced, pushed into action, and at the least, force you to put some attention and focus on these issues. The Mercury Mars tension can bring a "too many irons in the fire" experiences- where every iron gets hot and requires your attention. Simultaneously, there is an exchange between Mercury in Pisces and Jupiter in Gemini which insures growth in the process. To maximize this, turn everything into a smaller, more bite sized morsel if possible. Prioritize everything. Only the most time sensitive details should get your top focus in the coming weeks. See this time as a way to clean up and upgrade your actions, abilities and purpose. The positives can be more mental acuity, precise and clear agendas if you laser focus on details that matter most. Overall, some expansion is likely from your efforts if you can avoid mental drain. Sun moves to its position of exaltation on 4.13 at 20:42 CDT where it joins Ketu, receives drishti from a retrograde and compromised Saturn, as well as Rahu. Mars gives his drishti from Virgo, bringing an extra level of heat and pressure. Despite the challenging combinations at play, there is clearly moksha in the works from this configuration and the nakshatras involved. The coming weeks of Sun in Aries, bring surprises, pressures and awakenings that insure liberation on multiple levels. This transit occurs right before the full lunar eclipse on the 15th. Exalted Sun is a time when Sun is the "fullest" in his experience of life; his energy is maximized and feeling its own power. With power comes great responsibility, a need for purpose and a request of intention- in order for maximum alignment with dharma. His cohabitation with Ketu at this time indicates cleansing, restructuring and purification of our soul, our sense of dharma, purpose and power. Ketu's extraction process is usually not fun and often comes quickly. Prepare to feel naked and vulnerable. You may also feel stripped at times and uncertain who and what to trust. Though many dire and dramatic predictions are circulating about this year's set of eclipses, it's important to remember that with any bout of chaos, a restructuring of power is inevitable- both with our own inner, personal power, and our experience with it. I will share more about the lunar eclipse in my next post, but suffice it to say, the theme of "cleaning and clearing" from the inside out, is relevant and potent for this month, for the eclipses, and for the delicate time between the lunar and solar eclipses. It is a big year with multiple {major} planetary changes. We will experience the changes of Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu, Saturn and unusual movements of Mars all in the next eleven months. Big changes are in store for each of us! Feeling uncertain about your action steps? What needs to change in order for growth? What kind of support you need? Schedule a yearly progression with me in order to make your New Year a truly transformational year. I still have some sessions available for the end of April and the first part of May. *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. Aries: You've been waiting for the curtain to come up and the spotlight to shine on you. Your moment is coming as Sun moves to your first house, but in the meantime, there's still some ripening to be done. Find clarity by prioritizing life properly. This includes making sure Self and family values are in place, while relationships are clear and in order. Who and what do you keep locking heads with? What fears are holding you back? It's time to get what you want, but you have to do things in a new way. Taurus: Gains to losses. Outer to inner. Rise to fall. These become themes for your next two weeks. Your need for stability, comfort and support brings you some ultimatums, choices and creative action. There's tension with alone time, silence, marriage, and relationship contracts simultaneously. Your healing work is needed like never before, and the theme of listening carefully to your gut is more important than ever. Belly dance. Gemini: This could be a challenging time for career and how you present your Self if you don't communicate from the heart. Then again, that's no guarantee that you will be received well; at least you will be authentic to your Self which is a worthy effort. Relationships in general may be stifling your creative forces, causing frustration and misalignment. There are strong cravings for more harmony. Achievements and gains come through your own self initiated courage once Sun moves to Aries. Be prepared to step like lightning. Cancer: Learning turns to wisdom in the coming weeks as you ingest and digest, assimilate and filter out what you need. Meditation is nourishment for the soul and an important part of this download phase that you are in. As heart and emotions go through yet another cycle of transformation, overhaul and reboot, sparks begin to fly in your career house with the transit of Sun moving to Aries. Restructuring of home and heart comes with it. Leo: Your momentum builds over the next two weeks and moves from silent inner realms, to outer, courageous leaps. You will need to keep the inner intention, however, for the time being and not neglect your meditation practice. Use what stirs you and your inner depths to inform your outer experiences. Your ego gets a buff and shine when Sun moves to your 9th house, and comes with an emotional cleanse. The good news is your courage will strengthen once the dust settles. Virgo: Finding comfort and harmony within your life and relationships is a general theme in this waxing Moon phase. There is a renewed sense of learning from love while healing simultaneously. And yet, intense inner transformation abounds mostly through letting go- of expectations, "shoulds" and past "mistakes". Your perfectionism gets a make over in other words. Prepare for a brighter polish as Sun moves to Aries. This will be a rest phase for you, but don't mistake that for the amount of change this vacation will bring. Libra: From inner to outer is the theme for the next two weeks. Scrub, polish, shine, repeat. Gut and digestion are sensitive and need your attention. Bad mental habits can creep in without you noticing- at first. Get ahead of your Self by staying true to course. Agendas, action steps and plans help set your intention, even if you get blown off course. Sparks and endings are inevitable with relationships. Try not to blow a fuse and keep your head on. Scorpio: Awareness, intention, transformation and liberation rule the weeks ahead. Intuition gains depth and potency, which assists career matters greatly. You will use this wisdom for healing and refining your work with others as Sun enters Aries. Prepare for an ego scrub closer to the eclipse. This may help you clarify a piece of your work that you've been lax about. On the other hand, a certain laser focus regarding duty, purpose and self worth is strengthened. Sagittarius: Though hurdles and hoops will be required, the next two weeks help you affirm a new resolve with career. Heart and home matters turn to gains and connections for your internal and external process. Cravings to connect require your courage to act. Need for nourishment and support may be more attainable through self soothing than reaching out. Sparks fly as you get passionate about life. Cut out what is not working, and also by getting creative. This is what your career and offerings have been missing. Capricorn: This waxing Moon phase has you working hard on your motivations. Who and what is driving this ship, steering you on or off course? What is the underlying need here? Get creative with your courage and start thinking about your laser focused action plan that leads to greater fulfillment, enjoyment and less work. Yes, I said, less work. Working smarter, not harder, insures that you will be rich. How rich do you want to be? Aquarius: Speaking with purpose and offering wisdom and comfort to others has you thinking in new ways about how you share and who you share with. Hone in on your expert strengths and gifts and don't be afraid to upgrade some of your marketable skills with a bit more education. Communication shifts for the coming weeks and requires you to have extra clarity. Don't be wishy washy. Bold action steps and courage are forced upon you as Sun enters Aries. Look for the lessons; watch out for land mines. Pisces: You continue to re-visit some very old pieces of the puzzle. Some relationship return with the same old issues and concerns and yet nothing seems to have changed. Here in lies the frustration, the confusion, the disappointment and the grande discomfort. I can't help but hear Bob Dylan playing in the background: "Well, it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe. Even you don't know by now. And it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe. It'll never do somehow". It's not the clarity you should be looking for, it's the change agent. You are ripe and ready for transformation; relationships are shifting all around you. Get ready, you're about to be pushed further out of your comfort zone. Trust that this is necessary for your healing process to be complete. |
